NYX Lipstick Swatches.

Ok so I am really far behind on this post.. The joys of full time employment eh? Anyways lets move on from my obvious lack of blogging skills and delve into the wonderful world of makeup, lipsticks to be exact. I promised you guys a lip swatch post of my previous NYX purchase but again my camera skills are awful and the pictures looked crap. So now you can see them all swatched on my lovely pale hand. :D

I will start with the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. These are by far my favourite product from NYX so far. These lip creams are smooth and creamy and not drying at all. I recently wore the colour Prague on a trip to Dublin and the colour lasted from 10 am until 5pm when I ate some dinner. After dinner it had faded slightly on the inner rim of my mouth. Nothing a little touch up couldn't fix. I have five shades altogether now, I already had the colour Tokyo so I swatched it along with my newer ones for you to see.

L-R Tokyo, San Paulo, Prague, Copenhagen, Transylvania

Next is the Butter Glosses which are probably the most talked about thing in the last year or so. i personally love them and think they are a great gloss. A little sticky I wont lie but that does help them to last a good bit longer so WIN?

L-R Red Velvet, Creme Brulee, Eclair, Apple Strudel, Vanilla Cream Pie, Peaches and Cream, Raspberry Tart

Following on from the Butter Glosses are the Butter Lipsticks. Equally as amazing in my opinion. Super creamy and pigmented with a great shade range, whats not to love?

L-R Hubba Bubba, Fun Size, Cotton Candy, Candy Buttons, Lollies

L-R Big Cherry, Taffy, Little Susie, Fireball, Razzle, Sweet Tart, JuJu

Last but not least are the Matte Lipsticks. I love matte lipsticks especially for darker colours as they just look so much nicer to me. Out of the two NYX ones the Perfect Red one was the best. The paler shade called Hippie Chic looked awful on me and just did not sit great on the lips. What are your thoughts on matte colours? Do you love or loathe them?

L-R Hippie Chic, Perfect Red

Have you tried any of these lip colours before?

Lime Crime Lipsticks: First Impressions

It feels like forever since I have done a blogpost! And what better way to get back into the swing of things than a post about lipsticks. My all time favourite beauty product.

Lime Crime lipsticks have been around for a while now and have become a cult beauty product for many YouTube beauty gurus and bloggers alike. Now its my turn to love them! I purchased three of these lipsticks from a website called Beautyjoint.com. These lipsticks are priced at $18 which works out at around €13 which personally, I find to be a reasonable price for such great lipsticks. This site currently has 17 shades available of the Opaque Lipsticks with Coquette popping in and out of the bunch occasionally. They also have many other Lime Crime products available such as nail polishes, Velvetines Liquid Lipsticks and eyeshadows.

On the website, these lipsticks are described as being "recklessly loaded with pigment" to "underscore your personality". I think this is completely true. I picked up the shades Babette , Geradium and Centrifuscia

As you can see from the swatches above, these lipsticks really do live up to their name. Super pigmented! My favourite shade has to be Babette. It looked more nude online but its actually a slightly peachy toned lipstick. I still love it though. I have to be careful when applying this as it really is opaque in one go. I like to dab a bit on with my finger instead of straight from the tube.

Overall I would really recommend these lipsticks to anyone looking for great quality and pigmented lipsticks. I will say however, Lime Crime is not for the faint hearted as the other colours in the range consist of a bright yellow and a blue lipstick. Not easily worn colours. Haha

Have you tried any Lime Crime products before? What are your thoughts?

My Top Five Favourite Lipsticks!

L-R: L'Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick in 01 Fashionista Pink, YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in 07 Lingerie Pink, M.A.C Lipstick in Rebel, Topshops Secret Admirer, Sleek's Pout Paint in Port

L'Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick in Fashionista Pink: This is what I wear pretty much everyday and especially on days when I am not wearing too much makeup. Its not really a lipstick per say more of a lightly tinted balm. I am not usually one for glossy lips but I quite like the glossy-ness of this product, maybe its because its in no way sticky and won't cause your hair to be stuck to your face for the day. God I hate that.. Never the less this shade will suit any skin-tone, its a light pink colour that just makes the lips look plump, glossy and moisturised. Nothing wrong with that!

YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in Lingerie Pink: I recently mentioned this lipstick in my favourites video (June Favourites). Its a pretty popular colour amongst beauty bloggers and I first hear of it through Elle or AllThatGlitters21 on YouTube. This lipstick is insanely pigmented and as I said in my video you have to apply it lightly or it can look cakey. Also if you have medium to dark skin it could look a little concealer like. Not always a good look, if ever. But to each their own. :)

M.A.Cs Rebel: This is probably my favourite MAC lipstick, I love to wear this on nights out as its a really pretty, berry red colour, and in my opinion it suits my pale complexion. It has a sheeny finish to it and is very comfortable on the lips. It stains slightly but as its lasts a pretty long time I don't think of this as a bad thing.

Topshop's Secret Admirer: I have recently spoken about this lipstick in one of my previous posts (Review: Topshop Lipsticks) and it remains one of my favourites. Its a peachy colour that is slightly glossy and is comfortable to wear on the lips.

Sleek's Pout Paint in Port: This is not exactly a lipstick, but seeing as it's super pigmented and I love it, I'm adding it in. A little goes a long way with this product so don't over do it! Its a great colour for every skin tone and lasts ages on you lips. I urge everyone to check out these pout paints as you won't be disappointed. They come in a range of different colours that can be mixed to create your own unique shade. What's not to love?

What are your favourite lipsticks? Do you own any of the ones I have mentioned?
